Laurona was founded in 1941 and is still in business, though merged with another company. They made sxs double guns until 1978, when they went over to o/u guns. The quality is good and some are elaborately engraved. Laurona 26' Improved Cylinder/Modified, 76mm Magnum with a weight of 2.7Kg. The gun is in beautiful condition and a true sidelock with scroll engraving and removable plates. A classic Spanish side-by-side! Laurona 26” 4/3, 3” (76mm) Θάλαμι Magnum kai 2.9Kg. “A redesign of labels with a more modern look and better brand presence. The design alternates the matte background with the glossiness of the vertical Laurona brand. There’s an added special effect as the wine is consumed: since the brand is transparent, the color changes as the wine is consumed, transforming from a black to a green bottle. An explanatory text about the wine is included. So as not to single out any language from the different international sales markets, a Latin extract from Pliny the Elder’s Naturalis Historiae was chosen, which reviews the excellence of the region’s wines.

As above.. anyone currently own or have owned a Laurona? Just picked up a rather nice side-by-side 12g, NE, DT with very nice colour case hardened metalwork all round, 28' barrels.Metal to metal fit is good, no slack anywhere. Trigger pull is excellent as is the break. Blueing is still good, though there's wear showing on the underside, I expect where it's been carried/held when it's broken. Chokes appear to show half (right barrel) and a quarter (left barrel)
It's certainly be used but most certainly not abused. Woodwork could do with a clean up. The ususal, 'scrub' out the chequering and apply some oil and elbow grease to the rest.
It's a nice gun. Strange it's taken me so long to get a SxS..!!
