The Cosmic Conflict Over God’s Trustworthiness
Nineteen authors wrote various chapters of this volume which is a classic on the subject of God’s character and His absolute trustworthiness. Here is one review of the book:
Elohim Ozer Li (God My Help). 57 El Roi (The God Who Sees Me). 59 El Sali (God My Rock). 61 El Shaddai (Almighty God). 63 Elohim Shophtim Ba-arets (The God Who Judges in the Earth). 65 El Simchath Gili (God My Exceeding Joy). THIS is the point of what God did for Israel and what He is teaching us today of His character when we read it. Yahweh keeps His promises. Yahweh does what He says. Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. This is your Father, dear sister in Christ. What are God’s attributes? When we talk about the attributes of God, we are trying to answer questions like, Who is God, What is God like, and What kind of God is he? An attribute of God is something true about him. While fully comprehending who God is impossible for us as limited beings, God does make himself known in a variety of ways, and through what he reveals about himself in his. God, and his life is regulated by the divine precepts. Hence, holy is used as nearly synonymous with good, pious, godly. Hallowed; consecrated or set apart to a sacred use, or to the service or worship of God; a sense frequent in Scripture; as the holy Sabbath; holy oil; holy vessels; a holy nation; the holy temple; a holy priesthood.
“The reverberating chorus through the book chimes something like this: ‘If what you believe [about God] does not sound, look, feel, act, or inspire like Jesus, then it probably needs rethinking and changing!'” (Stevan Mirkovich, Pastor, Vancouver, BC)
You can listen to an audio (professionally-read) of any chapter of Servant God (see list below). You would get the most out of it by listening in order but the chapters do stand on their own, so go ahead and sample a chapter of interest to get a taste for the material.
The book is edited by Drs. Brad and Dorothee Cole of Redlands, California.
